Over the past 6 years, Jonathan Foreman Kirby has built a successful career in the action sport and lifestyle photography industry. He is noted for creating images that blend the talents and personalities of many of the industry’s top athletes with the beauty that Mother Nature has bestowed upon us resulting in fine art images that are timeless. He has been published in most action sports magazines, has worked with many of the top lifestyle brands, and in September 2010 was recognized as one of the world’s best action sports photographers by Redbull.

In 2008, Jonathan first began the shift of his focus to create fine art portraits in his beautiful home of Whistler, BC. While photographing professional snowboarders in the vast terrain around him was exciting and rewarding, there was something missing. It was the relationship that was developing with his future wife that inspired him to focus more on the emotion and relationship inspired art images. Jonathan had longed to create images that people would care for long after the snow melted, the athletes retired, and people’s interests changed. Through this process, Jonathan found that photographing people could both satisfy his addiction to creating beautiful images and at the same time give people joy, satisfaction, and long term appreciation of a fine art portrait. Constantly in love with the landscape, Jonathan lives to showcase those intimate and personal moments a couple or a family share with the awe inspiring scenery around his home.
